Vampire Life Abilities (Roblox): Documented Abilities, Controls, and Effects
The five documented Vampire Life abilities — neck snap on Q (humans locked out), Compulsion, Boulder toss, Pain Affliction, and the B sleep move for AFK XP — with confirmed controls; unlock levels and cooldowns are not published.
Five Vampire Life abilities are currently documented: neck snap (a kill move bound to Q — humans can't use it), Compulsion, Boulder toss, the witch ability Pain Affliction, and a vampire sleep move on B that trickles XP while you idle. The game splits abilities across vampire, witch, and werewolf boards, but it doesn't publish a full catalogue, per-ability unlock levels, or cooldowns — everything below sticks to what gameplay footage and update recaps actually show, and flags the rest.

The ability boards: vampire, witch, werewolf
Vampire Life's official Trello organizes content into faction sections — 🩸 Vampire and 🧹 Witches — and keeps three dedicated ability lists: VAMPIRE ABILITIES, WITCH ABILITIES, and WEREWOLF ABILITIES. Those boards' individual entries aren't part of this reference, so no complete per-faction kit can be listed here; treat this page as the documented subset, not the whole game. The same Trello also covers the systems you'll touch while leveling: the full map, the Magic Altar, the Mission Board, beginner quests, the hunter quest, and the Vampire Merchant, Witches' Little Shop, and General Merchant.
Tips
VAMPIRE ABILITIES
The vampire faction's ability board, under the 🩸 Vampire section of the official Trello.
WITCH ABILITIES
The witch faction's ability board, under the 🧹 Witches section.
WEREWOLF ABILITIES
A third ability board for werewolves, listed alongside the vampire and witch kits.
Same Trello, more systems
The full map, Magic Altar, Mission Board, beginner quests, the hunter quest, and the Vampire Merchant, Witches' Little Shop, and General Merchant all sit on the same board.
Neck snap: Q, and the human lock
Neck snap is a kill move bound to Q. In gameplay footage, a player asks “How do you snap people's necks?”, finds the binding — “Oh, Q” — and kills another player with it, leaving both as ghosts. The same footage confirms the species lock: after switching to a human character, the move stops working (“I can't snap a neck as a human”). A second session shows it becoming unavailable again (“I can't snap the necks anymore”) right after the player had been switching between forms such as werewolf, though the exact cause isn't clear from the recording. Beyond the human lock, which forms can and can't use neck snap isn't documented, and no cooldown, level requirement, or range is published for it.
Compulsion and Boulder toss: named, not explained
Two more names show up in gameplay with no stated effect: Compulsion, called out immediately after a player turns into a vampire, and Boulder toss, shouted repeatedly by a player fighting as a witch. The easy mistake with both is over-reading the context:
Mistakes to avoid
- Problem
- Treating Compulsion as a confirmed vampire ability.
- Fix
- It was named the moment a player turned into a vampire, which hints at the vampire kit — but its effect and owner are never shown or stated, so keep it unconfirmed.
- Problem
- Crediting Boulder toss to witches because the player using it was a witch.
- Fix
- The footage shows a witch calling it repeatedly mid-fight, but never says which faction's kit grants it or what it actually does.
- Problem
- Attributing the same clip's fast health recovery to a named ability.
- Fix
- The player dropped to two health and then gained health quickly, and the mechanic responsible is never identified — don't pin it on Compulsion, Boulder toss, or anything else.
Pain Affliction: the witch's risky drain
Pain Affliction is the one ability with published effect details, and it comes from a developer-update recap — the presenter's paraphrase of the witches update, not official patch text. Applied directly onto a target, it “mobilizes” them (the recap's own word, almost certainly a mis-transcription of “immobilizes”) and continuously drains their life essence, while damage scales with witch level.
Failure reasons
- Problem
- Channeling Pain Affliction without a mana plan.
- Fix
- It consumes mana while channeling, so start the drain with enough mana to hold it as long as you intend.
- Problem
- Holding the channel to the very end.
- Fix
- After a certain time it begins to harm the witch herself — the safe window isn't stated, so back off early rather than eating self-damage.
- Problem
- Expecting flat damage at every level.
- Fix
- The higher the witch's level, the greater the damage dealt, so a fresh witch's drain is weaker than a leveled one's.
- Problem
- Hunting for exact numbers.
- Fix
- No damage, mana cost, duration, range, or cooldown values are published for Pain Affliction — the mechanics are known, the numbers aren't.
Sleep on B: the vampire AFK XP move
Vampires get one documented non-combat option: a sleep move bound to B. A developer-update recap reports that sleeping “actually helps gain XP, so like AFK grind,” with XP arriving “a little at a time” — slow, but it works while you're away from the keyboard. No XP rate, sleep duration, or unlock condition is stated. The same recap floats a raised level cap, but only as the presenter's on-camera guess, so no cap figure belongs in your ability plans.
How abilities tie into leveling
Published game overviews connect abilities to leveling in general, not to specific unlocks: you start as a Human or a Natural-Born Vampire, then level up for strength, new abilities, and a better shot at becoming an Original, spending Money on gear such as stakes, blood bags, and Daylight Rings along the way. What none of them spell out is a per-ability requirement — no documented level, quest, or purchase unlocks a specific ability, so treat any exact unlock level quoted elsewhere as unconfirmed. The practical path: level your character, and recheck ability names and details after each significant update — the newest entries here (Pain Affliction, the B sleep move) come from a recent update recap, and balance data can shift.
