Vampire Life Character Paths: Starting Paths, States, and How They Connect

Vampire Life documents two starting paths, Human and Natural-Born Vampire, plus the Werewolf, Witch, Hybrid, Ghost, and Cannibal Raised states. See the routes connecting them and what to check in-game.

Vampire Life has two guide-documented starting paths — Human and Natural-Born Vampire — and one confirmed route between them: a born-Human player can become a vampire by getting transformed by another player. Beyond those two, September 2026 gameplay shows Werewolf, Witch, Hybrid, Ghost, and Cannibal Raised states, with guides pointing to becoming an Original as the long-term progression goal. Here is how the routes fit together.

The two starting paths

Comparison

Comparison
PathStatusDocumented description
HumanStarting path (guide-documented, September 2026)One of two documented starting paths; born-Human players can later become a vampire by getting transformed by another player.
Natural-Born VampireStarting path (guide-documented, September 2026)The other documented starting path, described as having 'greater potential from the start' compared with players who become vampires later.

Both starting paths share the same progression loop in current guide text: "Age as you play, get stronger, unlock new abilities, and climb the ranks" — and leveling up is described as giving "a better shot at becoming an Original."

One inconsistency to know about before you spawn in: the guide text listing Human and Natural-Born Vampire is currently contradicted in part by a "a vampire or a hunter" framing of the opening choice that also appears in current guide text. The hunter option is not corroborated by the descriptions listing the two paths above, so treat Hunter as unconfirmed and check what the character-creation screen actually offers in-game.

Human to Vampire: the transformation route

Guide text describes the confirmed transition from Human to Vampire directly: "Even if you're born Human, you can still become a vampire by getting transformed by another player." From the hunter side of the alternate framing, the same route appears: a player who begins "as a hunter clearing the map with stakes" can "get infected and transition into a bloodthirsty creature of the night." Gameplay footage matches this — vampires are shown transforming other players mid-session ("oh yeah I'm transforming you like I already transformed that").

What is not captured anywhere current: the exact steps, requirements, or conditions of the transformation. If you want to be turned, join a live server and look for a vampire willing to do it rather than assuming a fixed procedure.

States shown in current gameplay

September 2026 gameplay footage shows players taking — and re-taking — more states than the two documented starting paths:

Data table

State
Vampire
Gameplay observation
Players select and play vampires ('let's be a vampire'); a player also revives into the vampire state ('Oh, I'm a vampire now').
State
Werewolf
Gameplay observation
Selectable and played ('all right let's be a werewolf'; 'I guess I could always be a werewolf').
State
Witch
Gameplay observation
Offered alongside vampires and werewolves ('All right, I guess I'll be a witch then'; 'the witch I ain't being a witch').
State
Hybrid
Gameplay observation
Described by a player as 'Half vampire, half werewolf'; other players addressed as hybrids ('You hybrids don't scare me').
State
Ghost
Gameplay observation
A death state shared by multiple players ('Yeah, we're both ghosts').
State
Human
Gameplay observation
A state players return to ('I guess I'll be human'); a human player could not snap necks ('I can't snap a neck as a human').

The footage does not show menu labels, unlock conditions, or costs for these states, and a garbled "Reaper I'm the reaper" line in the recordings cannot be pinned down as a confirmed path — do not count it as one. There is also a gap to be aware of: guides document only the two starting paths, while gameplay shows players switching among the states above. Whether the full roster is selectable at first spawn or only becomes available after unlocking or path changes is not shown — check your own character menu in-game.

Death, ghosts, and re-taking a path

The footage also demonstrates a full death-to-vampire sequence, in order:

Redeem steps

  • Die in-game and become a ghost

'Well, I'm a ghost now' — a second dead player was also a ghost ('Yeah, we're both ghosts').

  • The ghost state survives a server change

'I switched servers and it appears that uh I'm still a ghost.'

  • Re-enter the Human path

'I guess I'll be human' (elsewhere in the same session: 'I guess I could always be a human again').

  • Return to the Vampire path

'Okay, I can get back up. Oh, I'm a vampire now.'

So Ghost is a post-death state that persists across servers, and players can re-take paths afterward. Whether re-taking a path is a menu choice or requires specific conditions is not captured — watch what your own death screen offers.

Cannibal Raised: the stronger-vampire state

A creator walkthrough titled "How to become cannibal raised in vampire life" (September 2026) describes Cannibal Raised as "basically a stronger version of a vampire in Vampire Life," with a warning: "It also resets your level, so be careful." The demonstrated route:

First session flow

Step 1

Start as a Human

'first off, you have to be human if you want to be Cannibal Raised.'

Step 2

Get bitten or infected by a Cannibal Raised vampire

'somebody has to be Cannibal Raised vampire, and they have to bite you or infect you with their blood.'

Step 3

Drink a human's blood while infected

'you have to drink a human's blood, and that will trigger the transformation.'

Step 4

Die, respawn, and confirm the state

The player respawns 'in the vampire castle,' and the result is confirmed on camera: 'as you can see, it worked. He is Cannibal Raised.'

These steps and the level-reset warning come from that creator demonstration rather than developer documentation, so plan around the level reset carefully and recheck the route after the next update.

Witch path: level-based ranks

The Witch path is the one path with documented internal progression. A creator recap of the September 2026 witch update (dev updates covered September 19–21 per that creator) ties witch ranks to player level: Novice Witch at levels 0–24, Adept Witch at 25–49, Gifted Witch at 50–74, Powerful Witch at 75–99, Elder Witch at 100–399, Ancient Witch at 400–799, and Scarce Witch at 800+. On top of that ladder, the highest-level witch on a server receives the "supreme witch" title plus bonuses "like in strength, magic, and duration and proficiency." This rank table is a creator-reported breakdown, not developer documentation, so recheck it after updates. No equivalent vampire, werewolf, or hybrid rank ladder is documented.

What is not documented (and what to check in-game)

  • No stat or ability numbers. Current guides and gameplay footage do not show side-by-side damage, health, or speed comparisons between paths. The stated differences are limited to: Natural-Born Vampires' greater starting potential, Cannibal Raised being "a stronger version of a vampire" that resets your level, the Hybrid "half vampire, half werewolf" mix, and a Human's inability to snap necks.
  • No documented entry requirements for becoming a Werewolf or a Witch, no stated method for becoming an Original (guides only say leveling gives "a better shot at becoming an Original"), and no Robux or price conditions for any path.
  • No menu walkthrough. Path switching is shown happening on video, but the interface labels and the exact procedure behind it are not captured.

Treat this page as a freshness-sensitive map: the guide descriptions behind it are dated September 24–25, 2026. Recheck the path roster and these transitions in-game after the next Vampire Life update.
