Vampire Life: How to Become a Vampire From a Human
How a Human becomes a vampire in Vampire Life: getting transformed by another player. Covers the turning sequence seen in gameplay, the Compulsion ability gained after, the death caveat, and reverting to Human.
Quick answer
Yes — a born-Human character in Vampire Life can become a vampire, and the conversion is player-to-player: you get transformed by another player in the open world, not through a menu or a shop purchase.
- Recorded gameplay shows a human turning right after another player knocked him down in a fight.
- The newly turned player immediately found the Compulsion ability.
- The change is reversible — the same player later noted he could always be a human again.
When a Human can be turned
Guides currently describe the starting options two different ways — Human or Natural-Born Vampire, or vampire or a hunter clearing the map with stakes — so check which state your character actually spawns as in-game. Either way, a born-Human character is not locked out of the vampire path. Natural-Born Vampire is the separate starting path, described as having "greater potential from the start"; getting transformed by another player is how a Human enters vampirism instead.
The transformation is an action one player performs on another in the open world: in recorded footage, a vampire player mid-fight announces to another player that he is transforming them, the way he already transformed someone else. The observed turning is traceable only to player interactions like this — not to any visible menu, shop, or purchase.
The turning sequence observed in gameplay
This is the sequence as it played out in recorded play — not a documented, button-by-button procedure:
Redeem steps
- Be a Human in the game
In the recorded session, the player had deliberately switched to being Human earlier.
- Get knocked down by another player
The turning followed an attacker downing the human in combat.
- Get back up as a vampire
The player got back up and was a vampire. The footage does not show which specific action — bite, attack, or other — caused the change.
Two things the recording leaves open: the exact input, range, or ability the vampire player used is not identifiable, and a separate attempt — a player asking another to run over his character while expecting to turn — has no clearly shown outcome, so a vehicle run-over is an attempted trigger, not a working method.
Death blocked the conversion in the observed play
Being alive appears to be a working precondition. In a recorded session, the player died before any turning could happen and found no conversion available in that state ("Can't be a vampire now at the very least. Nope."). The recorded play only shows turning happening while alive; whether death blocks conversion just for that moment or permanently is not shown. Treat staying alive as a precondition observed in play, not a documented game rule.
What changes right after you turn
Checklist
- You are a vampire immediately
The identity change was confirmed the moment the turned player got back up.
- You gain Compulsion
The clearest post-conversion change: the newly turned player found the Compulsion ability right after turning.
- Human-only limits lift
As a human, the same player couldn't snap a neck — a move he had used earlier as a vampire. Abilities open up on turning that a Human does not have.
- The change is reversible
Later in the same session the player noted he could always be a human again, so turning is not presented as permanent.
Beyond these immediate changes, this page does not cover a full progression, rank, or stat picture for turned vampires — being transformed is not the same thing as the Natural-Born Vampire starting path.
Don't confuse it with the Cannibal Raised variant
Vampire Life also has a related but distinct transformation, "Cannibal Raised", described in a player tutorial as "basically a stronger version of a vampire in Vampire Life". Its documented steps are: start as a Human; have a player who is a Cannibal Raised vampire bite you or infect you with their blood; then, as the human, drink a human's blood to trigger the transformation — the converted character respawns at the vampire castle, confirming it took effect. The tutorial warns that this transformation "also resets your level, so be careful".
Those steps belong to the Cannibal Raised variant only. Do not follow them expecting the standard Human-to-Vampire turn, and do not treat biting or blood-drinking as the documented standard turning step. What they do show is the game's wider conversion pattern: an infection or bite from a special vampire, followed by a trigger act.
Version caveat
Vampire Life is in active public testing — the official Roblox page title still carries a "[PUBLIC TEST!]" tag — so the turning method can change after updates. Recheck the conversion in-game after each update. Note that the recorded play shows no level, item, money, or location requirement for being turned, and no named control, menu option, or range for the transformation itself is identifiable from it.
