Vampire Life Human Guide: Starting Path, Limits & Path Changes

What the Human path means in Vampire Life: how it differs from a Natural-Born Vampire start, the demonstrated limits, and the ways out — another player's transformation or the Cannibal Raised route with its level reset.

Quick answer

In Vampire Life, Human is one of the two starting paths — the other is Natural-Born Vampire — and it isn't a permanent choice. Recorded play shows Humans being turned into Vampires by other players, taking the Human-only Cannibal Raised route, and even switching back to Human after playing other paths.

  • Both starts progress the same way: age as you play, get stronger, unlock new abilities, climb the ranks, and level up for a better shot at becoming an Original.
  • Demonstrated Human limitation: the neck-snap takedown was unusable while Human in recorded gameplay.
  • Cannibal Raised — described as a stronger version of a vampire — requires being Human to attempt, and the transformation resets your level.
  • Paths are switchable in recorded play, including back to Human, but the menu used to switch is never shown on screen.

Human vs. Natural-Born Vampire: the two starting paths

Vampire Life opens with two starting paths: Human and Natural-Born Vampire. Both build a character over time the same way — age as you play, get stronger, unlock new abilities, climb the ranks, and level up for strength, new abilities, and a better shot at becoming an Original. The difference is the starting position: Natural-Born Vampires have greater potential from the start, while a born Human can still become a vampire later, so the Human start is a starting point rather than a dead end.

One boundary to know before planning around it: Human-specific survival rules, spawn point, starting stats, and controls are not established here, so treat them as unconfirmed and check them in-game rather than assuming they mirror the vampire path.

A demonstrated Human limitation: no neck snap while Human

In recorded gameplay on a Human character, the neck-snap takedown was unavailable. The player attempts the move and finds it unusable, then only lands neck snaps after switching back into a vampire form later in the same session. That makes the neck snap a concrete, demonstrated gap between the Human and vampire toolkits — but it comes from a single recorded session, so treat it as observed behavior rather than an official or complete list of what Humans can and cannot do.

How a Human becomes a Vampire

The route into vampirism described for born Humans is getting transformed by another player. Recorded gameplay shows it from both sides: in one session a Human character is knocked down and then finds himself turned into a vampire, and elsewhere a vampire player transforms another player directly on camera.

The trigger is currently inconsistent, though. Other recorded play shows a player announcing "I'll turn into a vampire. Why not?" and turning without another player visibly acting on him — so the transformation appears both as being transformed by another player and as an apparently self-initiated turn, and it is not established whether both triggers exist or when each applies. The exact prompt, conditions, or menu steps never appear on screen either, so there is no step-by-step procedure to list. If you are aiming to turn, watch for an in-game prompt or confirmation, and treat an offer from another player to transform you as the route the guides and footage describe.

Cannibal Raised: the route that requires being Human

Cannibal Raised is described by the creator of a recorded walkthrough as a stronger version of a vampire in Vampire Life, and the route to it is Human-only. The steps below are that creator's walkthrough of one transformation, not a game-published procedure:

Redeem steps

  • Be Human

Per the walkthrough, you have to be human if you want to become Cannibal Raised.

  • Get infected by a Cannibal Raised player

Find a player who is already Cannibal Raised and have them bite you or infect you with their blood.

  • Drink a human's blood

As the infected Human, drinking a human's blood triggers the transformation — infection and the blood drink are both part of the route.

  • Respawn in the vampire castle

The recorded transformation shows the character dying and respawning in the vampire castle, where the player confirms he is now Cannibal Raised.

  • Mind the level reset

The creator's warning: the transformation also resets your level, so be careful before committing.

Because this comes from a single recorded run, confirm each stage in-game — and the level reset specifically — before you commit.

Switching paths — and coming back to Human

Path identity is fluid, and Human is a state players can re-enter. In one recorded session, the same player cycles between forms: after being a vampire he returns to Human ("I guess I could always be a human again"), and within that same session he also switches into a werewolf and then a witch. Separate footage shows a player who transformed by accident asking to go back to Human right away.

What the recorded play never shows is the menu or mechanism behind those switches, so switching paths — including back to Human — is demonstrated behavior without a documented procedure. If you want to change path, plan to find the option in-game yourself, and re-check how it works after updates since path rules can shift.
